Why Open-Source?

It's Trusted

Open-source software is trusted by industry experts and tech enthusiasts the world over. Because open-source software is, by its nature, collaborative, there is no incentive to secrecy. Code is often available to be reviewed and enhanced by the general public.

It's Free

Accessibility is important. Having an entire system, built from the OS up with software that is available for free gives learning experiences to people who might otherwise have no opportunity to play with and experiment on these types of software.

There is no way that a student like myself would be able to tinker with an intrusion detection system (IDS) without paying a prohibitive amount of money, gaining skills I will use in the industry, without open-source software.

Support Open Source Software

If you feel like any of the content here is worth supporting please go to any of the three programs listed above and donate directly to them. Every dollar can go a long way in providing patches and improving features we get to enjoy.
